« One thing is not apologizing for yourself like some people do who go on stage - you totally need to learn how to take control of the stage. You need to not just take up space, you need to take up your space.

Some people will go on stage and be like - ‘I got up this morning and don’t feel very good, I’m not very good at this, so just bear with me for a minute and I’ll get off’ (the stage).

Or people will act like ‘I don’t want to take up your time.’

WELL, WHY NOT?!?!? If you didn’t want to take up our time what did you get up here for? You need to make yourself visible - say ‘I want to take up your time, and I want you to look at me, and I want you to look at me because I have something that I want to tell you and I think that you’re going to think that it’s interesting - god dammit! »
