It is often in play -- with gentle challenges outside of our experience or control -- that we learn, grow and rise to occasions we never dreamt of. These cards present a movement matrix of imagination & the vital encouragement of "why not try?".
The Belly Dance Basics Module series leads dancers (complete beginner through professional or teacher) through the 45 choreography cards in the deck. Weaving in movement prompts to the 5 Choreography tasks gone over in each module, dancers will begin to build and enhance their belly dance vocabulary.
The 9 modules each include a tutorial for 5 choreography tasks and a combo linking the skills and steps together with 2-3 movement prompts. Each module concludes with a short dance to music from Ali Arsoy, a dear friend of Melina. From module 1 to 9, steps build and sequences become increasingly complex! Take your time, repeat, and practice each module.
Additional challenges for once you’ve completed all of the modules:
1. Combine the cards from 2+ modules together for one dance.
2. Take the cards from one module and link them in a NEW way!
One does not need to own the belly dance choreography card deck to greatly benefit from this Belly Dance Basics series, however your experience and dance creativity beyond the package will be enhanced by purchasing one to keep inspiration right beside you at home!
