Belly Dance On-Demand: Feel The Love & Shimmy February 2021 4 Class Pack

This Archive Class Package includes 4 Recorded Classes.
1st 2 classes : Meditative Energy Shimmies & Grounding Stretch
2nd 2 classes: Belly Dance Technique, Varied Styles & Vintage Oriental Combos
The first two classes of February will be very whole-body stretch & breath-energy oriented - extended shimmy meditations with fluid arms & body bowl layering, with an option to include finger cymbals at various points. The goal is to ‘lose’ ourselves in our shimmies and release tensions of the day, then bathe in fresh energy to end. If you prefer or enjoy the technical approach of learning specific belly dance combinations, that will be the focus of the last two classes of February.
Classes 1 & 2: “Feel the Love and Shimmy.” After a sweeping big picture warm up of limb articulations and central body channel mobility we will tune in to the three bowls for rotations at varying ‘volumes’ and tempo levels. In these first two classes of February we will enter our shimmy caves for an extended, verbally guided shimmy movement experience that will focus on feeling into the body, flowing arm patterns, and relaxing as we go. We will practice basic soft knee shimmies, earthquake shimmies, champagne shimmies, twist shimmies, shoulder shimmies and traveling shimmies. We will be shimmying with arm movements and breath for a big portion of class, then spend the last 10 minutes or so of class on our yoga mats for a grounded stretch and restorative integration. OPTIONAL RHYTHM TREAT LAYER: For those of you with finger cymbals at home, you will have the option to use them in these classes and practice various patterns as we go. If you don’t have finger cymbals, you can use your finger tips, or not worry about them at all.
Classes 3 & 4 - Belly Dance Combinations. We will warm up as always then practice vintage oriental belly dance combinations that can be styled differently and adapted to different types of world music. Shimmy cave and stretch to end! OPTIONAL RHYTHM TREAT LAYER: For those of you with finger cymbals at home, you will have the option to use them in these classes and practice various patterns as we go. If you don’t have finger cymbals, you can practice patterns use your own finger tips, or not worry about them at all!———————————————————————————————
